1. put your battle standard and general in one unit.
2. Cast a spell with irresistable force, killing the general and half the unit.
3. Unit runs of table, leaving me with 0 standards and a lost game.
Yup, although I did take a bunch of crazed lunatics with the dreaded thirteenth, which was the spell I miscast on. And actually killed the entire unit with it unit, netting me 17 clanrats.

Never put all your eggs in one basket with Skaven, as that basket tends to go eeekk!! and leg it if trouble so much as sniffs in their direction.
ReplyDeleteBlood and Glory always trips my DE up too, as the units with standards are generally my strong but squishy frontline units of Witch Elves, while the units I don't take standards on are my crossbowmen, who rarely get attacked
There's also the fact that my General (Hellebron) is 350points and doesn't even have an armour save
Was only 1000 points and sadly it was my bunker unit where generally my battle standard sits, with the grey seer. Can usually take casualties, but the general blowing up was a bit too much for them.
ReplyDeleteAnd the other units were slaves, who can't take standards. And not a good idea to put characters in tar pits.
